Rugby Pre Season Prep Block 1 (2 Week Program)

This is the first instalment of my 6 week pre season prep program.

This is an interpretation of the template I use with my pro guys as they approach pre season, obviously with a lot less individualisation,

In this block we really focus on getting you moving well and laying the foundations for the following, more intensive, blocks of training. So you can head into pre season training firing on all cylinders and ready to go.

This block will focus on developing the aerobic system primarily with “off feet” conditioning (off feet meaning not running) before we get more specific as we get nearer to the season. In this time we will be preparing the muscles and joints associated with running so you get the very most out of the speed development and conditioning work that follows.

When it comes to the lifting this block will also focus on refining technique of the main lifts with sub maximal weights so when the time comes to lift heavy we’ve got everything dialled in.

This 2 week block will be extremely challenging but be the perfect program to get you moving well and ready for the following blocks that will build the fastest and strongest version of you.
